La Bohème – The Met: Live in HD at HKU

The Met Live is back!

Chi Sun College is proud to present a magnificent season of The Met: Live in HD screenings at the Jockey Club Student Village III.

Jointly organised with the Foundation for Arts and Music in Asia, a number of screenings will take place in our College Hall this year. The shows will be complimentary for HKU students, showcasing the world’s finest singers and most elaborate productions from The Metropolitan Opera of New York in what would be a unique artistic experience.

Coming up first will be Puccini’s La Bohème on September 27, 6pm.

Puccini’s moving story of young love is the most performed opera in Met history—and with good reason. Franco Zeffirelli’s classic production stars Met debuting artist Anita Hartig as the frail Mimì and tenor Vittorio Grigolo as her passionate lover, Rodolfo.

“Puccini’s “La Boheme” is arguably the most popular opera in the world…this production was easily one of the finest
“Boheme’s” in the Met’s recent history… the worldwide transmission is one for the ages. Audiences will be treated to an
unforgettable night filled with unbridled passion and energy.”
– David Salazar, Latinos Post

“The production is gripping and must be one of the best ever stagings anywhere.”
– Richard Carter, the Examiner

“The Franco Zeffirelli production continues to be eye candy.”
– James Jorden, New York Observer

Free entry for HKU students

Light dinner will be provided.
